Joseph Chetcuti

At the age of 16, Joseph Chetcuti (b. Malta) began his artistic education at the School of Art in Valletta. He was later given the opportunity to pursue his studies at the Accademia di belle arti in Florence at the age of 22, where he mastered the art of sketching, sculpture and bronze casting.

On returning to Malta after his four-year study period in Italy, Joseph founded his very own bronze workshop – the Funderija Artistika Chetcuti. He considers his bronze sculptures of the Immaculate Conception in Bormla, Jean de Valette in Valletta, Wistin Abela in Zejtun, and Il-Pupa in Qormi among his most important work commissions.
